Law Students and Summer Clerk Program

The summer clerk program was developed to provide law students with an opportunity to experience the practice of law as it exists in Evansville. Our summer program exposes our clerks to the firm's practice by allowing them to work in various areas of law. In addition to legal research and writing assignments, summer clerks attend trials, depositions, mediations, contract negotiations and client counseling sessions, and take an active role in firm meetings. We believe that the realistic hands-on experience provided by our summer program is its most attractive feature.

During the first years of an Associates affiliation with BFOH, we emphasize professional growth and training over production. We believe that proper training and supervision of new Associates is fundamental to their professional development and is vitally necessary to the continued good health of the firm.

At BFOH, Associate hiring is conducted with the long term in mind. Our Associate offers are only made to those who we expect to eventually join the ranks of Partner in our firm. With this long term goal in mind, we focus on training in the early years of your career, rather than billable hours.
